Three points for employers and mobility teams

Pending ≠ approved

Do not assume pending status. Submitting an application does not guarantee approval or create an automatic right to remain after the printed expiry date.

Apply within the window

For eligible talent-scheme applicants, the official pages state that an online extension application may be submitted when the remaining limit of stay is within three months.

Prepare evidence

Expect current travel-document details, the existing limit of stay, employer letters or contracts, position, remuneration, employment duration, and other supporting documents as applicable.

Monitor conditions

Applications may be ineligible where the limit of stay has expired, circumstances have changed, or required employment conditions are not met.

Employer action checklist

Build extension deadlines into the workforce calendar; begin the review 8–10 weeks before expiry where possible; confirm the employee's current limit of stay; maintain payroll, employment, and supporting immigration records; and escalate cases where approval is pending near expiry.
